The Mescalero Apache Tribe has reopened the hotel at the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort & Casino on the Mescalero Apache reservation.
The hotel, which temporarily closed in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, reopened Thursday, Oct. 1, with enhanced safety measures in place including physical distancing, rigorous cleaning and sanitization guidelines, mandatory face-covering protocols, and no smoking throughout the building, according to a Inn of the Mountain Gods news release. Temperature checks also are required to protect the health and safety of all patrons and team members.
Some amenities and activities remain closed including concerts and live shows, valet parking, shuttle and car service, the swimming pool and jacuzzi, the wet/dry sauna, the fitness center, and the arcade.
Various other amenities are open throughout the property. Patrons can access the casino floor from 7 a.m. to 4 a.m. daily and place their bets at The Sportsbook at the Inn powered by William Hill from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through Monday. Table games are open from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 4 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
The Topgolf Swing Suite is available from noon to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Reservations are required for the suite. The Poker Room and bingo at Club 49 remain closed.
Hungry patrons and guests seeking a beer or cocktail can visit the Broken Arrow Tap House, 1852 Treaty Room, Big Game Sports Bar, the Shot Bar, the outdoor dining area and outdoor bar service. Wendell’s Steak & Seafood, Wendell’s Lounge, LOL Comedy Club, Gathering of Nations Buffet and Apache Tee Restaurant remain closed.

The Spa at the Inn will reopen on Oct. 16.
Recreational activities that are open to the public include the Championship Golf Course, boat dock, Apache Eagle Zipline, bike rentals, batting cages, and horseback riding. All require reservations. Fishing is also open and participants require a permit. Skeet shooting, the hunting lodge, and disc golf are available to the public daily.
Ski Apache remains closed.
